DVD remote from Sony

Sony will release a PS2 DVD remote for the Japanese PS2 December 22nd.
The controller allows owners of Japanese PS2s to do basic DVD functions that they couldn't do before, such as program play, shuffle, and repeat, as well as some nice tricks like slow-mo and scanning.
The remote can also be used as a wireless controller to play games

I found a Sony website in Japan where they list a pic of this device (at least as it's sold in the Japanese market): http://www.scei.co.jp/ps2/peri.html The model number for this Japanese unit is SCPH-10170... It's probably safe to assume that this base number will stay the same for the US version as well (although there might be a /U xxxx after it). Hope this helps, Mike |
