PS2 Monster Cable Review
Posted by @ 4:48 PM, EST
We added a review of Monster Cable’s PS2 cables.
Here’s a bit:

We tested Monster's cable against both Sony's own cable and the one I purchased from Performance. While Sony's cable did have a few merits in terms of design and construction neither it nor Performance's cable could hold a candle to the sheer quality of the Monster cable. Using the Monster cable significantly reduced the signs of dot crawl on the three major brands of TVs we tested it on. Color reproduction was also slightly enhanced and more detail came through. Sound was also improved, with less electrical hiss and noise and cleaner highs and lows. The cable also comes in a snazzy blue color to match those ridiculously expensive horizontal and vertical stands most of us got suckered into purchasing.

What a worthless review. Which cable are you testing? The review mentions s-video once, so I'll assume that's it.

What about the test setup? It would help validate the results to see that your test setup might have flaws.

Now, my review of the monster optical cable vs. a plain optical cable vs. the standard AV audio:

The monster optical cable uses lots of buzzwords that we do not understand, but will print here for effect. The sound produced from the monster cable was far clearer than from the other cables, and is well worth the price. Plus, it comes in the cool blue that PS2 owners have come to love!

We also tested Sony, Performance and Monster S cables (2 sets of Monsters). Basically, 2 PS2s hooked up to a Sony XBR monitor, both running SSX. When using AV switching between the PS2s, there was no noticeable difference. Four different sets of eyes, all were in agreement no difference. Sorry, we saw what we saw..
