DailyRadar posted first impressions of Square’s action-RPG, The Bouncer:

The meat of the game is comprised of a series of action-based scenes, kicking off in the bar itself, followed by an outdoor fight. Then it's on to the now legendary train-hopping scene, which is where we're introduced to the mysterious and curiously coifed Echidna (A certain Blake Fischer immediately nicknamed her "knuckles"). Along the way, certain mission parameters affect gameplay -- one example included a desperate search on rails for a key card; failing to find it results in the runaway train crashing violently into the station. The gaping hole that' s left causes seawater to come streaming in, and the next few missions become doubly challenging -- spend too long disposing of the opposition and you're up to your neck, as it were.Full article

Gamespot also posted first impressions of The Bouncer, so did IGN and GameInformer.

Core posted first impressions of Sony’s RPG, Dark Cloud:
Working through the dungeons is, again, a matter of finding the key that opens the door to the next level. There is a small twist in that the keys are planted on random enemies, so it is possible to find the key to the next level very quickly, or you might have to exterminate every last enemy in the level. Interestingly, the dungeon levels seem to be randomly generated from a collection of stock rooms, a la Diablo. At the outset, Toan is alone, but according to the manual other character may be added to his party. The player can then switch characters freely using a menu option.

Gamecenter posted a review of EA’s NASCAR 2001:
Furthermore, NASCAR 2001's control and sound are both right on the money. You'll have an easy time navigating your car through every track and around every turn, thanks to the tight control interface. Sonically, NASCAR 2001 delivers the goods with its accurate engine effects and excellent use of crew chatter. You'll be advised at every moment of the race as to where other drivers are as they approach you and when you need to bring in your car for a pit stop.

IGN posted a review of EA’s F1 Championship Season 2000:
Assuming that high realism levels are not a strict requirement for you and you just want to race, the game can be fun, but again, not in a terribly realistic way. The biggest problem is that the AI does not drive around the track at the right speeds around each corner. This means you're either watching as cars run away from you through a twisty bit unrealistically, or you are passing 3 or 4 corners stacked up waiting to make a slow turn. If you don't anticipate the latter event you can create quite an accident. If your damage is off, you can take out a bunch of cars this way, if that's you're definition of fun.
