PS2 online gaming plans

An article on Yahoo news has some information on Sony’s online plans for the PS2.

``We would like to offer not only game and entertainment content but also offer two-way (interactive) services, including TV, on a global scale,'' said Sony Computer Entertainment President Ken Kutaragi.Full article
Sony Computer Entertainment Inc (SCE) and NTT Broadband Initiative Inc, subsidiaries of the two firms, said that the time was ripe to launch broadband technology such as asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) services.
The alliance would also help Sony's plan to connect PlayStation 2 to broadband networks, transforming the game machine into an easy-to-use device for accessing the Internet and the burgeoning online entertainment market, Kutaragi said.
