Aaron just got back from SCEAÔŅĹs GamerÔŅĹs Day 2002.
HereÔŅĹs a bit of what he saw:
Yesterday (August 14th) Sony hosted GamerÔŅĹs Day at the swanky W Hotel in downtown San Francisco. GamerÔŅĹs Day is an event for the media, designed to provide a more intimate environment than E3 where the developers and press can discuss each game at length, and thereÔŅĹs even a few new games unveiled. There were too many games for little old me to get too, so hereÔŅĹs the lowdown on the titles that made the biggest impression on me, be it good or bad.Full article
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus
For some reason at E3, Sony was pushing the ho-hum platformer Ratchet and Clank instead of this cel-shaded adventure developed by Sucker Punch. The visuals are unbelievable, the music rocks, and the gameplay is varied and challenging. There are normal platforming sections, but thereÔŅĹs also a fair amount of stealth involved. As the game progresses, Sly learns new attacks and sneaking techniques which are all easy to perform, but are interesting enough to keep the game from getting boring. The scheduled release date is September 24th. Hopefully this early release date wonÔŅĹt doom it to obscurity.
