Core posted some small news bits on various PS2 stuff.
Some of it:

"A new arcade 'fighting' stick is said to be in development for the PlayStation2. Little is currently known about the peripheral either than it will feature eight face buttons, and will be available at launch in Japan.

Sony has announced that a new Windows based PlayStation2 development environment dubbed 'PRO-DG for PlayStation2' will be available later this year in Japan. Licensed developers will be able to hookup official PlayStation2 development kits to Windows based machines through a special LAN network, allowing developers to code in Windows and compile - test through the official Linux development kit."
