Tecmo Talks Unison
Posted by @ 2:31 PM, EST
Core really milked Tecmo on interviews; they now kicked up an interview with Tecmo's Nagai-san, director behind their upcoming PS2 title, Unison
Some of it:

"CM: Speaking of the TGS demo, we thought it looked extremely impressive. Can you explain the gameplay system?

Nagai-san: We're constantly revising it so it's difficult to give an accurate picture, but I'll try. In short, the player becomes a member of a music group and must go through different 'events,' similar to levels. Players will attempt to increase their level, making them more popular or famous. Right now we're framing the gameplay system and deciding how the various grades and events should look.

CM: The early demonstration was impressive visually. In particular, it showcased a variety of lighting effects. Can you tell us what graphic effects you're working on for the final version?

Nagai-san: Yes, we're actually trying to enhance the lighting aspects, as you mentioned. For example, we're working on the spotlights, lighting and sparks. I think the effects in the TGS demo were extremely premature, so we're revising them completely along with the character models.

CM: Music seems extremely vital to the game. Can you describe how music will be involved in the gameplay?

Nagai-san: The development team is currently working on the music aspects of the game. We have a few basic ideas right now, but nothing solid. Actually, the concepts of the game will be developed first, then the music will be added."
