Game Players Flock to Web-Enabled Consoles

"Online gamers using consoles will dominate the games software market by 2004, according to the market analyst group Datamonitor. Game consoles can be hooked directly to a television set, rather than having to pass through a home computer. The group predicted that by 2004, 45 million online gamers would be using Net-enabled consoles, while 28 million game-players would use their PCs. Analysts predict the games software market will see robust growth, reaching $17.2 billion by 2003, with the console market representing $12 billion"
