GT2 intro = GT 2000?

GameFan seems to thinks so:

"While watching the mesmerizing intro to Gran Turismo today, we noticed that many of the car models and tracks (not to mention reflection-mapping on overdrive) bore a striking resemblance to the demos of the PlayStation 2 version we've been seeing for the last six months or so. As I digitized the footage and looked at it more closely, it became pretty evident that what we were looking at was, in fact, PS2 footage."

Comment: hmmm... pretty clever if you ask me. If ends up being true it was a great idea :) Now they can say see GT2000 movies on GT2... I wonder if there are any hidden stuff?
