Snagged this bit of info straight from the old chumps over at Core:

"This morning the Microprocessor Report announced that Sony/Toshiba's Emotion Engine, otherwise known as the heart of the PlayStation2, has been named the winner of their prestigious 'best embedded processor' award. Other processors within the category included 'RC Cores V3 configurable core,' 'C-Port C-5 network processor,' and the 'IBM PowerPC 405GP.' A special awards ceremony is scheduled on January 27 at the Westin Hotel in Santa Clara, California."
