Microforte plans PS2 online title
Posted by @ 12:45 PM, EST
Looks like the Australian company Microforte is working on an online game for PC/DC/PS2.
Here’s some text from a job placement ad:

"The Sydney studio of MicroFort is working on a massively multiplayer on-line game (internally known as 'BigWorld'), and we're looking for some talented technical minds to work with an exceptional team of programmers, designers and artists to build an alternate reality. ? Up to 100,000 simultaneous users will be demanding seamless continual response from the server based back end to our game universe that we are developing from the ground up. As a member of the server team, you'll be assisting with the design and implementation of a dynamically load-balanced system, pitting the forces of latency against the evils of data integrity in the quest for an optimal balance."

"The server team will be working closely with the client side (initially PC, then moving onto Dreamcast and PlayStation2 platforms) who are building sophisticated 3D, animation, and physics systems, and cool game play code."

Thanks to PSX Nation for the info.
