New Capcom PS2 game
Posted by @ 1:34 PM, EST
According to Core Capcom is working on a new PS2 title, Makishimo (tentative name).
The game is supposed to feature large open areas, much like Mario 64.
The storyline is still being developed but so far the game will focus around a hero exploring several castles in search of an imprisoned princess.
Graphically, Makishimo will be set within a medieval world of swords and magic
Thanks to Core for the info.

Comment: Thats a good point kizuta, microsoft has a lot of money to toss out on the system x-box. and they may have a good chance but i doubt it. ppl buy systems for games and the x-box sounds more like a computer than a console. most likely ppl will shy away from it since its so different(and developers too), but weird things have happened in the past. heck, 4 years from now we may be seeing the X-box2 vs. the Nintendo&Sony PlayDolphin 3 with Sega software. (hehe, wouldnt that be somethin.)

Comment: All I seem to hear is Dolphin, Dolphin, Dolphin. Um, you're forgetting the X-Box? Yea, the X-Box. Microsoft, with $584 billion in assets, could crush Nintendo, Sega, and Sony if they'd want to. The X-Box will have a 1000Mhz processor, will play DVD's, and will cost $150. Just wait until March when Bill Gates will pull the thing out of his ass and will stun the world. Like I said before- I'll be getting a PS2 because many of my most memorable gaming memories have been provided courtesy of Sony and Playstation. I just want people to include the X-Box in the PS2 vs. Dolphin debate, as it isn't something to be taken lightly. If Microsoft really is serious about the thing (they most likely are), then Nintendo, Sega, and Sony definitely have something to be worried about.

Comment: One thing that's for sure is that Dolphin will definitely be more powerful than PS2, and it is supposed to be cheaper since it will not come with DVD playback support. But it's the games that make the system right? We will have to wait and see how many quality titles can big N put out.

Comment: Well, Dolphin's Mhz Clock Speed will definitely be 33% faster. After all, 400 Mhz is obviously faster than 300 Mhz. However, Clock speed isn't everything. Oh, don't forget that Nintendo said that the N64 has the power of an SGI workstation and would have been able to port Cruisin' USA and Killer Instinct flawlessly, so take whatever Nintendo says with a grain of salt.

Comment: And don't forget X-Box either. 1000 Mhz? 4 gigabyte hard drive? $150? Sure sounds enticing, huh? I'll be getting a PS2 for sure but the console wars will be much more interesting this time around, that's for sure.

Comment: Hey, don't get excited so fast. Dolphin is just around the corner and is rumored to be 33% more powerful than PS2.. and I suppose it will alsot be 33% cheaper than PS2... We will just have to wait and see

Comment: Awesome!!! I can't wait to see action/adventure games on the PS2. Onimusha, though, is the Capcom title that I can't wait for.......Dammit, just look at those in-game real-time shots on ps2web.com!!! They look far better than any renders I have EVER seen. PS2- the future of digital entertainment!!!
