Comment: And kituka, i think you may have misinterpreted what the dude said, he said that there would not be 3800 animations for each player, while you were talking iabout animations in the whole game i think(i know nothing about this so dont try to get on my nuts about it, im just tryin to clear somethin up)

Comment: ...ppl jump to conclusions awfully fast at this site. unknown, i said nothing of the sort, i simply said that with the s3 texture compression, the dolphin's textures will be able to be compressed more and will be clearer and will also be able to be loaded faster(unless the dolphin only has 4mbs of ram or soemthin).

Comment: 3800 animations is not big a deal, guys. Squares baseball game already has 3600 hundred- a fact.

Comment: ya really about that texture stuff, i'm already sure that the dolphin's textures will kik the ps2's in the ass, which kind of sucks, but i dont care too much since im gunna buy both. and that $300 price will have to come down before anyone besides hardcore gaming junkies(like us(i assume)) will buy it. but if sony is really losing that much money on each system they wont be able to lower the price for a while.

Comment: 32 MB? Are you serious? I thought the Playstation2 had 64 MB of RAM? This doesn't seem to make sense. The PS2 has 10x the polygon crunching capability of the Dreamcast, but only 40% more memory? Where the hell are they going to store the 10x more polygons with only 1.4x more memory? That's a *huge* mistake on Sony's part, don't you think? How can they possibly have so much processing power, then skimp on memory to hold all those polygons? What a waste. Even the mythical $150 X-Box will have 64 MB of RAM. Looks like Sony's going to have to skimp on texture space in order to squeeze more polygons out of their machine. That really bites.

Comment: 3800 animations per player? Yeah, right. The PS2 sounds like a miracle machine, but it STILL only has 32MB of main ram. You will NOT keep 3800 animations multiplied by 24 players in memory. It's just not practical, even using the latest skeletal animation techniques. You techno geeks need to get real. Unless you like seeing the characters pause while the PS2 loads animation from its DVD drive, forget this 3800 stuff. And 8000+ is even more ridiculous. Stop pulling these figures from your arse and think it through.

Comment: $299?? That sucks! If they wanna compete against $150 Dolphin and Dreamcast units, they better lower the price. No parent in their right mind's gonna pony up twice the cash for a gaming system, when you've got two big names selling their warez for $150 less. Doesn't Sony remember how damn slow the original Playstation sold when they released it in the US for $299? The SNES kicked its ass in sales before Sony finally wised up and lowered the price to at least $199. Sheesh.

Comment: Gameday's been shown in an early state? I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY IT!!! I'll be honest: NFL2K blew me away. I absolutely love the game and play it all the time. It's the game that really got me into football games in the first place. But, when PS2 comes out, Sega will be in a world of pain. I bet that the first football games will have around around 3800 animations per player- and this is only the first ones. Since Sony has said that the PS2 has a life of something like 10 years, in a couple of years we may see sports games with 8000+ animations per player, don't you think? PS2 is a beast that programmmers just don't fully understand yet, but in the future as they learn more we, the gamers, will be in gaming heaven.
