Metal Gear Solid 2 release date

MGS Producer Hideo Kojima said in an interview with Famitsu that the sequel to Metal Gear Solid should be out for the PS2 sometime in fall 2001.

| Metel Gear Solid got its name from a game that came out in 1988(Snatcher). In that is a robot called metal gear that sounds like a 12 year old girl. Also, if you beat the Sega CD version Metal Gears Head comes out on a Sega CD, with wheels underneath rolling him around. And now MTS2 will NEVER come out on dreamcast. It is like Square Leaving Nintendo for Sony! | |

| A few things I'm hoping for in MGS2: 1. A Jungle theme. The snow was cool in MGS but became boring after a while. It'd be cool to hide behind trees, bushes and such. 2. Be able to pick up the enemies weapons/take their clothes like Meryl did to disguise yourself. 3. Be able to attack/kill/tie up the enemies after you get them down. I don't know bout you guys, but I got frustrated when I couldn't nail them after they got knocked down . 4. CONTROL A METAL GEAR!! Maybe get it out in the Jungle, towering above the trees and wreak havoc with it's missles and ray/rail guns. Possibly have two Metl Gears fighting it out, YEA!!! 5. Guards won't stop looking for you after you've been spotted once or they find a body/notice a guard is not patrolling a certain area. You'd really have to think about your moves. 6. A KNIFE!! Just a few thoughts. |

| I'd bet that that is the Japanese release, as the interview took place in a Japanese publication. Can't wait can't wait can't wait!! I think that we'll be seeing this games release early 2002. The first MGS took more than 2 years to produce so it seems plausible. Hideo and his team are one of the best developers out there, no doubt that they will floor us with this title. | |

| To hear there is finally a release date for MGS 2 is music to my ears. I cant wait to get myself a copy and play on it. It should be absolutley awesome if the 1st one is n e thing to go by. Just think, the graphics are gonna look bloody mouth watering. |
