ESPN International Track & Field screens & info
Posted by @ 2:02 PM, EDT
I received some screens and info on Konami’s T&F launch game for the PS2.
Here’s a bit of the PR:

Track & Field will take center stage this year as the world’s fastest athletes converge in Sydney, Australia for the Summer Olympics. Gamers will have their chance to take a deep breath, concentrate on a good start, and go for gold as ESPN International Track & Field combines all the agony, ecstasy and emotion of a live track & field competition. With over a dozen authentic events along with true-to-life graphics, motion, and sound, the game will mark the first time professional Track & Field stars have been utilized in a motion capture session. Being developed for the upcoming PlayStation 2 platform and the existing Dreamcast platform, ESPN International Track & Field utilizes over 700 moves motion captured from the likes of 100-meter world record holder Maurice Greene, 1996 two-time Olympic Bronze Medallist and 1997 World Champion Ato Boldon, and U.S. pole-vaulting champion Jeff Hartwig.

Yeah Rob.PS2 and DC are both 128bit but PS2 has 300MHZ with vector units while DC has only a 200MHZ.PS2 has a 32MB RAM,DC has 16MB RAM etc...There are a lot more but I am bored to write them because there are so many I could write a book instead.

Rob, i dont know what you're smokin, but remind me never to try it. I know they're both 128-bit, but what matters is who is making the games, and how much effort goes into them. Just take a look at Madden 2001. The game is quite a ways from completed, and it already looks just as good as anything i've seen on the Dreamcast. In equal comparison to NFL2K, Madden is already WAY better looking, and i quote PSM in saying "in comparison to Madden 2001, NFL2K just looks cartoony". Dreamcast isn't going to impress me unless they get a real smash, like MGS or MGS2 will be. Oh yea, and by the way, the PS2 can do a LOT more than the DC, just in case you didnt know. Duh.
