Interactive Matrix shown on GScube
Posted by @ 3:21 PM, EDT
Remember about the “GScube” thing I posted about a few days ago?
Today reports from SIGGRAPH in Tokyo:

Now get a load of this. "Eon showed a concept preview of The Matrix. It was from the scene at the beginning of the movie, the hotel ambush. What we got was a city-top view of an animated figure running and jumping across rooftops, but you couldn't distinguish from the actual film. It was in real-time. It had an interactive camera and they were moving it around."

How all of this will become possible is unclear. But rest assured that you'll be playing movies in some way, shape or form in the next five years. Just ask Ken Kutaragi. "You can communicate to a new cyber-city," he said in an interview with Newsweek earlier this year. "This will be the ideal home server. Did you see the movie 'The Matrix'? Same interface. Same concept. Starting from next year, you can jack into 'The Matrix'." No-one knew just how right he was...

Prsonally I liked the plot. But everyone has a different opinion. It's how each of us understands the(meaning of the) movie. There are many extraordinary things that happen everyday.OK we are not being controled by AI and the Matrix. But humans once they free their minds from the standards they can achieve many things. There are people who can bend metalic things and I saw someone who can.IN REAL.Uri Gueller or something was his name.He could do some other things too.
Some time ago before the release of the movie I had a disgussion with friends. All had experienced the thing when we dont know when we are awake or asleep. Also there are many times when we live a moment we have the sensation that it happened before(repeated itself).
Strange coincidence. Those were the inspirations of the Wachowski bros.

It's good for the Playstation2's sales that the "matrix" is coming to them... But, i hated the movie, so i'll probably end up hating the game. I don't see what all of the hype was about, the movie's special effects may have been mind blowing, but, not exactly deserving of having a thing called a plot, which is about 95% of everything that matters!! But, if it means anything at all, congratulations to those who did like the movie, and those who will enjoy another addition to the playstation2's now-growing library...

Oh I remember Sony said that PS2 demos took data straight from the CGI movies like the Final Fantasy 8(Squall dancing with Rinoa) and Final Fantasy Movie(An old man's face expressions).
With other words Sony intented to create a console that takes data from CGI rendered movies and manipulate it to real time.
Maybe data from Computer Generated effects from the Matrix(like the pause of Triniti while being on the air and then the rotation of the camera while being paused). That's were the GScube took Triniti's data from maybe.

"The GSCube will be a real-time development system that may allow the PS2 to run CG rendered movies. According to Game Informer Online, the GScube will "create an optimal environment for the creation, manufacturing and distribution of computer entertainment content, while charting the path towards realizing real-time generated e-cinema productions.""....."The new configuration is said to be up to eight times more powerful in terms of memory than the Emotion Engine on the PS2."

Found this at SonyWeb

If the configuration is up to 8 times more powerful in terms of memory than the EE how will the PS2 run CG rendered movies in real time like the Matrix?Maybe with the help of the VUs?

PS2 will approach the CGI quality of the intros but never this...Does this mean there wont be any Matrix game for the PS2?I WANT A MATRIX GAME!(especially Kituka.I wonder were he is).PS2 seems to be something like a test of the next gen console.Like the PS3.Sony already started working on plans about the PS3.Strange.PS2 hasn't lived half a year and already there are plans about PS3?
