PS2 European launch delay confirmed

Today SCEE confirmed that the European PS2 launch has been delayed to November 24th.
Here’s a bit of the PR:
London 4th August 2000, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today announced that it would be releasing its PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system at recommended retail prices of 299 in the United Kingdom, 2990 FF in France and 869 DM in Germany. All other European prices are aligned with the varying trade margins and VAT rates across the European markets.Full press release
SCEE also confirmed that due to unprecedented consumer demand for PlayStation 2 in Japan, it would be realigning the launch date in Europe to November 24th. Since its Japanese debut on March 4th 2000, a staggering 3 million PlayStation 2 units have been shipped, making it one of the most successful electronic entertainment product launches ever.

| Checked again the TTT.I wonder how many have really seen TTT in action.How many in this site are honest?The PS2 is NOT OVERHYPED!Can anyone find anything about TTT that isnt better graphically than any other DC fighting game?The graphics are CGI quality almost as good as the FMV of TEKKEN3.Jaggies?Yes it has.YOU MUST TRY TO SEE THEM!Something all PS2 haters have been doing and succesfully made it look like the jaggies ARE VISIBLE! | Who cares, if you buy a PS2 at launch you are wasting your money anyway. Give it a couple of months and wait for the price to drop and for quality games to start coming out. I would rather buy a DC for half the price and play already available quality games or maybe Max Payne on PC which will hopefully be out around the same time. | |

| The PS2 is more then going to live up to the hype that has been generated throughout. It's already enjoyed what some are calling the most successful launch in the history of consumer electronics. And with huge publisher and developer support, it's only going to get better! I believe rivals will struggle to get a head above Sony for a long time to come. |

Oh and the PS2's games are closing a bit(I SAID A BIT SO DONT START) the quality of Toy Story.Examples MGS2,Munche's Odysssee,GT2000(not much)and a few surprises later.aND THIS IS JUST THE BEGGINING. Even DC could close a bit the quality with Shen Mue and Sonic Adventure2(Games I want to have a DC)and I m not biased or being brain washed.I love DC(I love Sega(especially it's games) too but i am a bit disapointed sometimes because they rush a bit their plans and moves) I love PS2(I love Sony's plans for consumer satisfaction )I love some of Nintendo's games(Hate Nintendo because they have a big idea for their selves especially Mr Myiamoto) I hate Bill Gates(There used to be someone called Akira in the Forum with the words "Fighting a weak opponent makes me feel so empty"as his signature) who has enough money to kill every other opponent.Take Sony Sega MC and Nintendo.Every system they sell means loss.Profit depends on Software sales.Lets say they lose $300 from each system sold.Now for MC means losing a "peny".Means the other companies have to streach more their plans.Mr Gates has less problem spending money for marketing and losing from their hardware sales.Mr Gate is fighting weaker opponents and he thinks he is so tough.HA! | By the way I playied boh RRV and TTT(playied it in the arcades and saw the PS2 version in real life)and they rock.RRV doesnt look SUPER AMAZING but it's great.TTT kicks ass both graphically and in gameplayability.And the jaggies are visible accordingy to the TV which the game is displayied and the jaggies arent very visible. | |

| If you all remember, the console as only been outside in Japan for 6 Months, so if you think the development of the machine is complete or near to that, you could only be crazy as hell. The first playstation only rocked after 2 years of the launch day. The first game that was an it was Wipeout, but until the machine achived the actual performance, take about 5 years. Have hope and great games for everyone |

| What is the big deal? The Ps2 is all hype, and until you guys realize this you're going to be sorely dissapointed. I have played my friend's import PS2 and to be honest I wasn't at all impressed. Oh, and he had about 4 games for it because he said all the rest that are out in Japan now are trash. Why, why, why? I was looking forward to this machine as much as everyone else in the beginning but now I'm just skeptical. Especially with all these developers saying bad things, a hard developing environment(ahem...Saturn, anyone?) It has been quite a while since launch and still crap is rolling out. And yet still it's selling over 60k units in Japan A MONTH!! What is wrong with those Japanese??? They're buying mostly for the DVD I suppose. I hate Sony for many reasons: game exclusives.....they buy off developers, just as Microsoft was trying to do. They monopolize. They have a great HR department that has people bonding their lips to Sony's big ass by hype alone. They produce trash that sell like hotcakes and still people can't tell the difference. They try to kill the compitetion.....what good will that do? Then we'll be stuck with their crappy ass games. If Sony wins this next gen war, I will not game anymore. I HATE SONY!! | |
