IGN also smacked up an interview with Metro3D, talking about their upcoming multiplayer online PS2 game; Armanda 2
Here’s a bit:

IGNPS2: Can you describe what kind of game Armada 2 will be, and what systems you plan on bringing it to?

Mark Jordan: A2 is an action game that emphasizes long-term growth and exploration. You pilot a star ship around a large universe, blasting away at diverse aliens. You gain experience points and increase your skills. You collect money and artifacts to upgrade your ship. A2 will most likely be on the DC, PS2, and XBox.

IGNPS2: How will Armada 2 work on PlayStation 2? I mean, is it both offline and online game?

Mark: You can play Armada 2 as a single player game, or with four persons on one PS2, offline. If you want to play on-line, you connect to our server and join the whole A2 community to trade or go on adventures. [The two versions,] online and offline, don't mix data. For instance, you can't take a character from offline to on-line, in order to prevent cheating. For online, your character is "official" and means something since you for certain worked hard to earn your power and ownership of guildspace.
