Ring of Red preview

GIA kicked up a preview of Konami’s Strategy RPG Ring of Red.

Unlike most mech titles, Ring of Red plays out its combat in a revised version of the past. The obligatory combat acronym is here as "AFW," which basically stands for "mech," while the typical variety of warring nations is replaced with a Japan torn by civil war in the 1960's. In this past, Japan continued fighting World War II after the dropping of the atomic bombs and was eventually occupied and divided a la post-war Germany. As expected, the U.S. occupies the southern half while the USSR and China occupy northern Japan. By 1964, all out war between the two halves has begun.
