Q: So how do you give a tank a "personality"?

It's not easy! Basically, we started by working with the game designers to decide how we wanted each different tank to behave. We wanted to give the designers the power to create the personalities, rather than relying on programming. What we actually came up with is a relatively simple system where the designers enter in the desired personality traits on a spreadsheet to create what you might call "personality templates," and the programming reads those templates to create the behavior of the tank.
