Newsweek posted a funny review of Sony’s Playstation2.
A slice:

Setup is so easy an adult can do it. The opening “browser” screen shows a spacey abstract floating object. You’ll quickly get past that, maybe to play a DVD movie, but more likely by inserting a game disc in the slide-out slot. I started with Ridge Racer V. It was like every other auto-race game ever made except for the stunning— stunning —graphics. As your car careers into barricades, photorealistic landscapes shoot by. Next was Tekken Tag, a familiar kick-and-hit Mortal Kombat slugfest—supercharged by lifelike rippling of muscles and such. By then my 10-year-old son came home; spotting the Sony, his eyes widened to the approximate size of my TV screen. So much for homework.
