The AI opponents are very intelligent. This isn't seen in too many racing games but in Type-S your competition will follow proper racing lines, take turns at appropriate speeds and are very much aware of your location on the track. Basically what this means is that you can't always cut a line through the pack as they will occasionally cut you off and get in your way. Want to take the inside line? You'd better think twice because they also want to take it so don't get too cocky! If you want to drive like a maniac, you'll crash and burn fast. Another enjoyable aspect of the game is the need for awareness throughout the race of where the other cars are and knowing when to make your move.Full review

| I liked the control, once i got used to it, it was something challenging and new. The graphics were tip-top, except for the lack of excellent anti-aliasing. The physics were not all that good, until the crashes came around, then all hell broke loose and i drooled. I didn't like the sound, although; I felt it should have been in Barbie Race and Ride. The sound effects were a bit dissappointing too. The game was actually kind of fun, and provided something new for any gamer. I give the game a B. | |

| Lets not turn this Comments section into a flaming contest Max. Also, I'm not sure what you're on about when you made the comment : "these games are just too hard for you". If you read my earlier post, you would have noticed I have COMPLETED Driving Emotion Type-S after a mere 20 hours of gameplay. In my opinion, this is another of the games weak points. While the cars are hard to control, the game is surprisingly easy to complete. |

| I didn't think that there will ever be a fair test of DE Type S,but finally there is one.I own the japanese version of it,and the game is challenging but not too hard. To the comment of John:Sorry,but why do you give a comment on a racing game?The Gran Turismo series is the king of racing games,but perhaps these games are just too hard for you,Mr. Softcoregamer. |

| I can't believe this game received an 8. The game is pathetic. The best thing about it is that the cars look pretty good. As for playability, it's is almost unplayable. Handling is absolutely shocking. And I'd argue that the opponent "AI" is equally pathetic. On some courses, the oppenents are almost unbeatable. On any course with a lot of "S" bend type turns the oppenents drivers drive super slow. They seem too scared to get their wheels off the road and onto the dirt. Courses like Suzuka (can't spell it!) are much easier than they should be. Ok, it's true that after about 5 hours, you can manage to keep the car on the road and win a few races. After you reach this level, the game only takes another 10-15 hours to complete. Thank god I rented this one for 2 days and didn't waste good money on it. I would give it an overall of 4/10. Even Grand Turismo 2 is 10 times better than this game. |
