Silent Hill2: first play

When it looks like it couldnt get any better.TGS 2001 had the first playable version of Silent Hill 2, GS U.K. has the story:

"The gameplay has changed very little although the visuals are a world apart from those of the original (you might be hearing that line a lot in the PS2 section). At one point we were presented with an opportunity to interact with a young girl and although we weren't able to understand a single word of her Japanese, the expressions on her face spoke volumes. The quality of the in-game character visuals that we witnessed were, in fact, not far removed from those that appear in the cut-scenes of the first game. Unfortunately the level of noise on the showfloor meant that we weren't able to put Konami's claims of accurate 3D sound from only two speakers to the test but if we manage to sneak into the Makuhari Messe before opening tomorrow and turn the volume up you'll be the first to know.">
