PS2 gets it Hard Drive and Broadband

Japan will soon be playing online the release of its HDD:

"Electronics giant Sony said on Monday it will begin selling in Japan next week an upgraded version of its PlayStation2 game console that will allow users to plug in a broadband-ready hard disk drive unit.

The new feature will allow the popular game console to link into the internet at several times the speed of current connections and also allow for enriched game content that takes advantage of the extra memory that the hard drive offers."
