Inside PS2 Linux
Posted by @ 8:00 PM, EDT

Yesterday a handful of lucky PlayStation 2 owners in Japan began receiving the first batch of PS2-Linux kits. Consisting of an Ethernet card, 40GB hard-drive, keyboard, mouse, VGA adapter, and technical documentation, the kit is being marketed as a home-brew development package. The hard drive is connected to the PlayStation 2 through an included linkup cable, and is powered by a separate 12V AC adapter. On the back of the hard drive is a fan and a device toggle switch. When in operation, the unit has a blue colored access light. Similarly, the ethernet card is connected to the PlayStation 2 via two cables.
