Hurricanes Top 12 (as of 11/25/02)

Rank                Team                                       Previous                  Record

1.                     St. Louis Rams                         1                               9 0

The St. Louis Rams are for real, 9-0, knocking off a very potential Chicago Bears club.  The Rams remain undefeated and have only 3 teams left on their schedule that poses any threat.  St. Louis will face Philadelphia; Seattle and San Francisco in the coming weeks. And
hope to keep their undefeated schedule going.  Not much luck is
needed for an offense that scored less than 20 points a game this year.  Although they are undefeated, they have not clinched the division yet.

2.                     Tennessee Titans                   2                             10 1

This is purely the hottest team in the league right now.  Tennessee has scored over 30 points in 9 of their 11 games, making them the leagues leading scorer.  On top of that, they have not let a team score more
than 7 points in its last few games.  This super bowl bound team could capture three titles in this inaugural season.

3.                     Philadelphia Eagles                3                              9 1

After its first loss, the Eagles did not crumble or lose its cool.  They
went back to what they had been doing, winning.  A convincing 9-1 record may be challenged by an injured Donovan McNabb, but the Eagles need only a few wins to secure their playoff run.

4.                     Green Bay Packers               7                               8 1

They only have one loss, to New England.  Since then they have
improved their already powerful offense.  While they might have a
decent 2 game lead in the division, they meet Chicago one on one
which could be a very important game for the pack.  Lets see how
well they handle their winning streak.

5.                     Chicago Bears                        5                               7 3

Two very important things happened to Chicago this week.  They
beat New England in a heart stopper, and theyve also lost a good
one to St. Louis.  So theyve been performing right where expected.
The division is still within reach, a must win for Chicago comes next
week when they face the Packers.

6.                     Seattle Seahawks                   8                               6 2

Expecting this team to lose?  Dont count on it, while the NFC West Division is the hardest in the league, they can easily get a wild card
spot.  A decent schedule will prove to be a challenge to this team.

7.                     New England Patriots            4                               8 4

If ever there were an up and down season for a team, this would be it.  They go on winning streaks, and unfortunately losing streaks.  Losing three straight this team was suffering, and losing hope.  Fortunately
they recovered by winning two straight and remaining undefeated in
the AFC East Division.

8.                     San Diego Chargers              6                               6 3

Speaking of slumps, heres another team that went from winning to
losing very quickly.  Once the number one team, they have sunk a
little, but a tight race in the AFC West has them leading, but not by much.  If they want the division, they better start winning, quickly.

9.                     Cleveland Browns                  UR                           5 2

Wow, this team rose to the occasion, very suddenly.  Talk about new ownership making a difference, this team acts like they want the
division, badly.  Theyve got a decent Cincinnati right behind them,
but are surging like no other team at the moment.

10.                   Indianapolis Colts                  11                             5 3

The division might be out of reach, especially if Tennessee keeps on winning.  Dont be deceived though, this club is aiming towards the
wild card and they are right on course with their tough offense.  The Colts try every possible method to win games, they want the playoffs badly.

11.                   Cincinnati Bengals                 9                               4 2

Where did this team go?  They are missing out on the action, and they
will be missing from the list if they dont start playing again.  Lets
hope they can get back to playing good football.

12.                   San Francisco 49ers             12                             5 3

They are headed for the playoffs, but the question is, can they keep up
the pace with Seattle and Chicago?  Any win or loss could have this
team going towards the post-season or heading home early.
