Soon to be Free Radical Design once Timesplitters comes out. Some of 'em are from Rare though, and Rare is also excellent.

I like Square and Namco Best. Next come Konami and Capcom, and Polyphony Digital does a great job too. IREM rules too, though they haven't made that much games, eh

These are the best IMO...

1. Sega (Jet Set Radio, Sonic, Sega Sports games, Eternal Arcadia, and Seaman)

2. Squaresoft (Final Fantasy 7, 8, & 9 and Chrono Cross)

3. GameArts (Grandia and Grandia 2)

4. Capcom (Street Fighter and Resident Evil)

5. Konami (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Metal Gear Solid)

Are we speaking of quality and quantity? I dont think a one game studio could ever be the best! You guys are already saying TimeSplitters wll be the best ever! haha

1. Sega (of course, go here for innovation and substance, not flashy FMV)

2. Old Square (Chron Trigger, FF6/3, back when they were creative)

3. Capcom (fighting, platformers, RPG's, horror, and puzzles, Cpacom does it all)

4. and Konami (Snatcher, Policenauts, nuff said)

Altered, you manage to rip on Square for not being creative then turn around in virtually the same breath with Capcom. The undisputed king of milking cash cows. RE 24 anyone? How bout SF EX13? Please, at least be consistent.

In no particular order:

Blizzard
Game Arts
Square (certain in-house teams I like better than others, Final Fantasy is getting weak, but some of their teams still prove the company has it with Xenogears, FFT, Vagrant Story, and Chrono Cross)
Enix
Black Isle
SEGA
Nintendo (more shaky these days but still not too bad)

Here are my top developers, as with everyone else, this is my opinion so please, no flames.

1. Nintendo ( Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, Waverace )Lately they have not done much for me, but overall nothing beats Zelda or Mario.

2. Electronic Arts ( Madden, NHL , Live, FIFA)They've been consistently the best or second best for all sports games for a long long time. Granted, once a year someone puts out a better game in a certain sport, but they are always quality.

3. Square (FF1-100, Chrono Cross-Trigger) I remember buying FF1, not being quite sure what it was taking it home and....It's kind of fuzzy after that I didn't sleep for a few days, until I beat it.

4. Sega ( Ecco, Sonic, 2K series) I have a newfound respect for Sega these days, I think that right now they are the most original developers.

5. Konami, Capcom, Namco, Rare (Castlevania, Contra, Mega Man, Resident Evil, Goldeneye, Killer Instinct) I'm sure that I am forgetting somebody, but I like something that each of these developers do, but they also put out a fair amount of stuff that I don't like.

That's my two cents.

1. Rare (They have made a lot of my favorite games)

2. Square (They got me to actually play an RPG)

3. Nintendo (Shigsy Miyamoto is very talented)

4. Konami (Because of MGS. Hideo Kijima is very talented)

5. Raven Software (Made some of my favorites)

6. Sierra (Very Talented)

Here's mine in no particular order

1.Square-While FF8 wasn't that great Square is really making up for it with great titles like Vagrant Story,Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy 9.

2.Nintendo-I'm not really a Mario fan but I really like Mario 64 and Zelda OOT was good to imo.Metroid kicks ass imo as well.

3.Namco-I love the Ridge Racer series and Tekken kickass as well.Soul Calibur is good but not great.

4.Sega-Sega really like to jounery and innovate into new genres.I usually find Sega 1st party games really fun and I get into them easily.

5.Naughty Dog-The Crash games was really fun and I liked CTR as well.I can't wait until I see ND project Y on the PS2.

6.Konami-I love MGS and MGS2 will definetly kickass.Another game that should get some attention is ZOE.The movies kicks ass and its a visual orgy .

Potential kicass developers

1.Free Radical-While I can't say Timesplitters will kickass it did get really good first impressions and previews. Also 60fps at all times even at four-player split screen!!!!!!

2.Volition-I read up about Vol and they made Freespace series on the PC and is also making Red Faction a FPS i am keeping my eye on.Summoner has beeen getting some good impressions at IGN.Also no jaggies!!!!

Temco-I already played some DOA2 on the DC and I thought it kicked ass. What I really want to see is Ninja Gaiden on the PS2 and see what Temco can do with the series on the PS2,but after how good Temco did DOA2 I have good confidence Ninja Gaiden will kickass.

Vertical, I forgot about Tecmo, good call. Ninja Gaiden will be sweet, and if the rumored Tecmo Bowl ever comes out, I'll cry tears of joy.

Roberta Williams, Lori & Corey Cole, Jeff Smith & Mark Crowe, Al Lowe, Christy Marx, Jeff Tunnel, Jane Jensen, Whoever created the Police Quest series, and several other.

As far as developing companys/publishers..

Microprose - They made some of the best strategy & RTS games.

Konami - They have such a diverse range of good games, I find it hard to believe anyone would leave them off their list.

Sega - Though I don't like the majority of their games, I do have to give an A for effort and originality.

Electronic Arts - Not only are their sports games top notch, they have created several other titles that I loved. Desert Strike, Road Rash, and Crue Ball to name a few.

Sierra - The number 1 PC developer ever in my mind. Their games have dominated the top charts for most of their history. Even though I don't like, nor support, them after the Havas buyout.. I will conceed that their newer games are also very popular.

Top 3...

1)Namco: Every single arcade port they do is made of gold. Dont think anything otherwise.

2)ID Software: They made the FPS genre. Quake1,2 or 3 easily have the most replay value of any game EVER!. They are gods....

3)Sega: Make lots of kick ass arcade games. Needs to learn a little bit about making console ports as most of them are just direct copies of the arcade game with little/no replay value......Maybe they should go to Namco's studios for a day or two

Sega is the best developer today because they've got quality games in every genre. Plus they always find the time to innovate.

Other developers I like are Konami, Capcom and Namco.

listen to BFEREG, he knows what he is talking about. Sadly, the japanese dont like innovation, they like mind numbing sequel after mind numbing sequel, and that is a fact. the only truly innovative game they have liked in the past year is Seaman, an excellent, truly innovative game.

It in fact is ony of the DC's highest selling games. Let's hope Grandia 2 changes that.

1. Nintendo (If for no other reason, because of Zelda)

2. Sega (Lots of great innovative games, and tons of very dedicated people)

3. Square (Obvious reasons)

4. Konami (MGS, Castlevania)

5. Rare (Although recently they haven't been to good, PD = overated)
