I heard that a little while ago that sony stopped the preorders for the launch date. Are stores going to allow people to buy ps2's on a first come-first served basis? If they are, could you tell me a couple of good stores to check out on launch day.

None of the stores know exactly how many units they will be receiving on launch day, so it is possible that if you preorder one now you can still get it. Places to check on launch days are one that don't take preorders like Kmart, or any of the wholesale clubs, I'm not sure what Wal-Mart is doing either. I would check those places for sure.

Wal-Mart is doing a first come first serve. Other stores like K-mart may do that too but i'm not sure.

Didn't Wall Mart crumble under the pressure of "No 'M' rated games blah blah" and supposedly stop selling them? That is so Communist, and if so, there's no way I'm buying anything else there.

THAT'LL SHOW 'EM!

When Duke Nukem came out, Wal Mart was selling some kind of special version of their own which had no blood and all that other stuff.

I think that is really stupid of them to do that even thougth they are trying to be a family friendly store.

But anyways back to the topic.....
Toy's R Us down here in Daly City will be recieving 100 PS2's on the lauch day and will do it the first come first serve way.

I was thinking about staying there overnight (skating the lot) but i am sure if i get there pretty early ill have a good chance of getting one.

What would you guys do?

Is Walmart selling R-rated movies? If they are not carring M-rated games, then I hope they don't have a double standard when it comes to the movie industry.

Those first come first serve places are going to be packed with people hoping to be the first to get a PS2. Unlike the DC, which, successful in its own right, will be insane come launch day at these stores. Don't expect a PS2 unless you camped out (at least with the DC, some places weren't selling out).

Well the Wal-Mart in my city, which is a Super Center, still carries M rated games and R rated movies. I just don't understand, why would some do it and others not? I guess I'll have to ask them the next time I go in there
