![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I don't think our TV has those kind of connections apart from the A/V plugs. I read that you can connect your PS2 to a VGA monitor for optimum quality. But I'm just happy to have it running on good ol' 14" TV. I might get one of those WEGAS TV when I can offord one, and if thay come in a smaller size. ------------------ |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I couldn't see myself playing on anything smaller than a 27" Tv. Man those Wegas are sweet, but they cost too damn much. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm using a 20" Wega and it looks fantastic, if you are able to sit that close to the screen. PS2 still looks good on a regular TV, I had mine set up that way for a long time until the jaggies in RR5 started getting to me. It just looks better when you can see all of the details. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I just bought last week a 25'' Sharp TV that has A/V slots, and it's got S-Video too. Is the S-Video that much better to shell out the extra money for the S-Video cable? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The smaller the screen, lesser detail is shown... My point is that if I play Crazy Taxi on my 20" TV I will see less jaggies. I have played Crazy Taxi on my 27" TV and I could see all those jaggs easily! ------------------

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() But all in all what you really want to do with PS2 is just play games, and not worry about tiny details like jaggies. While I'm doing 350kmh in a Nissan Skyline, I don't care about the graphics as much as coming 1st. ------------------ |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dojo, what kind of s-video cable are you using? Also does the ps2 have a S-video INPUT or just A/V inputs |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Word of warning, make the cable short as possible, the longer the cable the more quality you lose. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() S-video doesn't improve resolution, jaggys you have in composite will still be there. Svideo gives beter color. Like when you see someone wearing a red shirt on a black black/dark background, the shirt will "bleed" to the side. Thats why black and white movies look the same. To improve resolution you need a line doubler and component jacks (Red, Green, Blue, Sync) on your tv. I have one on my video projector. Nothing is better then playing on a 7'x10'(thats 146" dia) screen... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Definitly, S - video removes most of the jaggies. I can remember playing nfl2k with av cables, eww jaggies. Put in Svideo = Perfect! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Us Europeans might want to use a RGB SCART cable (aka Euro connector). That will give you a very good picture quality. I saw a preview of the PS2 on a Danish site and the reviewer said that while using a RGB SCART cable most/all the jaggies in TTT disappeared, while they were noticeable with the normal Sony composite connector. Oh, and you get colour in your NTSC import games instead of B/W. |
