Only 500,000 units by launched date? What the.... Dang it sony make up your mind! Does anyone know if there is a chance that this 500,000 unit thing will ever change?

Can you please READ other subject headings before you post... We have seen this subject about 20 times today alone... Forget it, SONY know what their doing, Geez, only 70 000 PS1's were available at launch, and they started with the proce of $400!

Everything is fine, dont you worry about that.

Playstation when released in america cost $299.

When released in Australia it cost us $699 (australian dollars)

$50 australian dollars more and still at the original $299 price point in america.

Why cant we have it for the same price, compared with the original playstation

Dude, you can't compare the psx launch to the ps2 launch! The psx was relatively unknown at the time, and there wasn't too much demand.

The ps2, on the other hand, is the successor to the one of the biggest selling consoles in history! There is tons of demand, and 500k isn't going to cut it.

Ummm. The psx sold at 800 when it first came out in aus. I know.. Cause i brought it a 700 - 750. I went around to alot of shops they all were around the same price.

The only difference this time being that PS2 is about 7 times more hyped up than PSX was....

Ummm, well in Sydney at the games wizards back then sony threw a launch party and sold it for $699.

I had a Saturn back then and didnt buy a psx on the launch. Just went for a free feed and Booze
