Go to Blockbuster and rent Perfect Dark. Explore the endless multi-player options. After you do that remember that that game was done on a (256Mb) or to compare it to a CD 32MB cart, just think of what they could do on a DVD or whatever they are using.

I love it when you break it down like this, cause Perfect Dark looks like a good game(I don't own a N64 so I haven't played it, and when I rented a N64 Perfect Dark was unavailable )

but what really bakes my noodle is

The original PSX had a 32bit 33MHz processor, with 4mb of total ram and 1mb Vram

The PS2 has a 128bit processors running at 300MHz, which also includes 2 seperate vector units and Floating point calculator, 40mb of total memory and 4mb of Vram, all coupled todehter with insane amounts of Bandwidth

Looking at 1st gen PSX games and comparing them to CHrono Cross, Vagrant Story, FFIX, THPS2, and other last gen PSX games

Then looking at Timesplitters, TTT, DOA2, SUmmoner, MAdden. There is just so much to come our way, thats why I get so stoked

I totally agree Ddaryl. The PS2 has a lot of potential, which can/will be unlocked as time goes by. But even NOW most of the games look amazing. But it'll only get even better.

I'm hoping Timesplitters is like Perfect Dark but with a frame rate above 12 fps. I felt like I was going to lapse into an "episode" while I was playing that game, especially in four player.
Ddaryl, you're singing my tune buddy!

yeah thats the unfortunate thing about the N64's first person shooters, they have terrible frame rates. Goldeneye gave me headaches. But they we're considered revolutionary still.

We've got Timesplitters, Unreal, and Red Faction on deck for FPS this year, I also think Quake 3 will make an appearance sometime too.

i was thinking the same thing about how far say madden '97 and madden '01 i think that was done /w the same hardware. its just that all the power wasnt tapped. take 1st gen. ps2 titles and give them 10 times the amount of room for improvement- god think about it ppl. i don't think many ppl do this ddaryl...
