I modchipped my PS2 and it works fine. I've been using this way since august and none of the CD look scratched at all.
But, I recently bought Metal Gear Solid original discs (import from North America) and I can't get the second disc to boot. I have played multi-disc backups before and had no problem. Has anyone played multi-disc import originals before? IS there anything I can do to get the disc to boot? I have played half the game and I am dying to finish it. Please help.

A tip - if you dont want to make people angry, dont post the same topic twice under differeny subject headings.

I have a modded PS2 and have NO problems playing multi disc.

GT2 works fine.

Just boot MGS with the second disc and it will work.

GT2's a pretty bad example, it's a multidisc game - sort of ... but it doesn't involve any in-game disc-swapping, each disc has the full program on it. I dunno about Metal Gear, I'd at least try booting off the second disc though.

And what's up with your tagline? Isn't it established that the name of the game is Gran Turismo 2000, not Gran Turismo 3? Or did I miss something?

Hey Chris, They changed the name earlier this week. Since the game is going to be released in 2001 they thought naming it GT2000 would make it sound "old". So now we have GT3.

Cronus, I think what mm is trying to say is that you should respect people that have been around here for a long time. If you look at someones name, and see that they registered in sept of 99, give them a break. The older people are what make this forum, and keep the fanboys in line. Just cut them some slack, mod or not.

You don't have to call some one stupid just because they made a mistake.

I can't speak for Racer, but I think you're all misunderstanding his post. I think he meant that the name change was stupid, not Chris!

I'm pretty sure he meant Chris was stupid, by the way he said it. Not to mention he praised the name change in an earlier thread. If so, its not a very good idea to insult someone , even if they wasn't a *former* MOD. Just my opinion.

I don't care if he calls me stupid, I'm not gonna cry about it. He answered my question, and that's more important.

GT3. Think I like that better, yessirree. "2000" is kinda cheesy. I just installed Windows 2000. I'm not sure if I like it yet. There were some DOS programs, mostly emulators, that I have to kiss goodbye. In the long run, I think I'll prefer the stability of the NT core.

Thanks for the tip (I think the server was down when I first posted, so I didn't see the original post).

And the advice... the second disc does boot up... but only if you have a saved game starting on the second disc. So it doesn't help me. When I get the prompt to insert the second disc, it won't boot.

Let me ask again. Has anyone had any success with multi-disc IMPORT originals on a mod-chipped console? I am talking about MSG specifically, but any advice would help.

thanks
