Well, not many of you know that I own a PS2. Now, this is not ment to be flame bait or a flame post. I just thought I might let you all know some things about the PS2 that I have discovered that might get you alittle more excited before the 26th OCT.

Well, I love the intro of the PS2, it is so much more interesting then ANY console I have seen, and, it changes depending on the game or disc that is in the drive. If you boot the machine up with a DVD it takes AGES for the intro sequence to finish, but if you have a CD in it, it goes really quick, and if you have a PS2 game in it, it is even more slower/faster, depending on the game.

The next thing I love is if you put a foreign disc (game disc) in the drive, a screen comes up that looks as though you are travelling through space and are about to go into hell, it looks really coool, and the graphics are incredible that they use - I think it is tech demo material, it is that cool.

The next thing I like is the clock system that is in system settings. It doesnt really show the time, it has these 12 handle things that represent a clock. If it is 8:14 PM for example, only the 8th handle thing is highlighted. When it becomes 9:00 PM, then it changes. It is really coool, though it may sound dumb, it looks really good.

The next thing that impresses me is the difference playing games through an RGB/componate cable compared to the regualer AV cables. The difference is alot more siggnificant then with PSX games.

I just really love my purchase. It was so worth getting an import system.

I also love the design, but trust me, if you want to make the console look REALLY cool, you must buy either the vertical or horizontal stand, because the colour really does finsish the console, and makes it look AWESOME!

Buy one today!

No, there isnt...YET, SONY could release one, in the form of updated drivers, because the CD player is also based using drivers, so they could release one where you upload it to your PS2. That would be coool.

Heh.

Here in Australia because of the Olympics we had this Simpsons fanfest on FOX 8. For about 16 days it was The Simpsons 24 hours a day. It was cool.

What model do you have? some of the ings you say don't take place on my PS2.

The intro screen doesn't change no matter what game is put into it.

The DVD doesn't take ages to load.

Any kind of foreign disc (cd, back-up, non-region PSX, Dreamcast) does nothing but take me to the audio menu. No flying through space or anything else.

When a CD plays there is nothing more than a cube that spins and the control buttons on the screen.

When you enter the System Configuration the full time shows along with the tumbling clock symbol.

So what model do you have?

I was chatting with someone yesterday about having the PS2 as the "Featured Game" at my site just for this reason. I think that I will take some screen shots and do that now.

The "hell" scene isn't that impressive, imo. It's just a cloudy red screen. When you first boot up there aren't any cubes on the main screen, but after you boot more, there are more and more cubes floating through space. Also there is the sound of the ocean that plays if you leave it just sitting on the menu screen. I enjoyed that. I'll try to find some pictures.

Jackel - I have a 15000 model, with the DVD 1.1 drivers...

The cubes only mulitply when you keep resetting the machine, when you power off, it resets itself, so when you boot up, the cubes are small again.

Say if I was to keep booting my system, resetting it (not off) in between, then the cubes grow and there are more of them

You poor thing, no hell scene. I LOVE THE HELL SCENE!!!
