"If i were you. I would get the Multiplayer adapter made by interact. Dont get the ps2
multitap. The Multiplayer controller has 5 controller slots, the ps2 multitap only has 4. And
the Multiplayer multitap is only $29.99. How long is the cord you say? Well see for yourself."

After seeing this in a thread it had me thinking. Why are Sony's stuff more expensive than non-Sony approved stuff?
On my PS I have 3 controllers mad by someone else and had no problems with them. My question for everyone is what do you purchase? If you do buy outside of Sony, have you experienced any problems? I'm leaning towards purchasing my multi-adapter and 3 other controllers from another company.

The general idea that Sony approved/ lisenced products are higher quality. Therefor they can charge more. If this is true or not, I don't know. I've noticed its more true with memory cards then anything. I had 2 off-brand memory cards, both eventually went bad. But, my Sony memory card has worked perfect.

By the way, why'd you post this twice?...

Sorry everyone, didn't mean to post this twice....my computer froze up and wouldn't let me get back to the forum....and my first post didn't appear even after a refresh so I posted again.
Anyways, I have a Sony and a non-Sony card and haven't had any problems. Can anyone recommend another company other then Sony for accessories?

Stick with Sony, Interact can mess up games and memory cards(past experience), I've also heard that sometimes it doesn't recognize a controller. So really, stick with Sony.

EB has been listing a PS2 Gameshark CDX on their site for sometime now. It says it is scheduled for launch. I wouldn't bet my pre-sell that you'll see it at launch, but I say it is only a matter of time before we'll actually see them.

As a personal rule-of-thumb, I never buy ANY third party add-ons for my systems. Sure, I end up paying anywhere from $5 to $10 more to have SONY, SEGA or NINTENDO printed on the hardware, I don't mind. I have piece of mind knowing that if they should defect my system in any way, the big 3 back their products up and if you read your fine print, they'll repair it as well.....that is if the fine print hasn't changed from a 1000 series PSX. All-in-all, it is a personal decision, but it is certainly nothing to lose sleep over.

In my opinion I only buy third party equipment if it's disposable crap.
What I mean by that is MEM CARDS [ loose em daily [ though I back em up on my comp so...]] gamesharks/plug mods and any prepheripal that doesn't have anologue I.E I would stick to SOny brand anologue [ cuz of vibrasion and sensitiveity] Or NIN brand [ for same reason] but would stray for a "NON" anologue controller [ or the old sony ones ] because it's hard for there to be a BIG reduction in quality unlike there would with somthing so SENSITIVE as Dual Shock 2

Seems like everyone prefers Sony to third-parties. I saw in a mag a company called Pelican and they have many accessories such as steering wheels, multi-tap (a vertical one too), and a cool looking fully analog pad. Does anyone know anything about them?
Oh, they have something like the Gameshark called the Codebreaker.
