I dunno i love having my best friends come over to play fighting games on my DC (DOA2,SC,PS2,SF3) and emulated games on my PC (metal slug,Last Blade2,Shock Troopers) but i also like playing FPS over the 'net and talk trash to them he,he i dunno it's a tie for me Astro ------------------ |
| IronFist Posts: 951 | posted 10-05-2000 01:07 AM I love playing against my brothers and my friends, but I would also like to play against Bobs_Hardware because he thinks he is better than me in Tekken . [This message has been edited by IronFist (edited 10-05-2000).] |
| ddaryl Posts: 1698 | posted 10-05-2000 01:11 AM I think Ironfist meant to put that one in the countdown thread, he's probably there wondering where the hell it went

| Bobs_Hardware Posts: 1126 | posted 10-05-2000 03:35 AM I kick your ass IronFist but what would be cool, have 3 friends around for a game of Timesplitters, then go online and have 4 people on your console playing against other people from...wherever (Free Radicals better release a patch for online play for Timesplitters) ------------------ |

| PrimalScream Member Posts: 170 | posted 10-05-2000 07:42 AM Definetely friends coming over, it's more social and a lot more fun watching your friends turn psycho Last year we had a NHL2K tournament. |

BUT he just can't hack it.. he does em too.. So i guess u could say his cheating hehe. But yep Friends for sure. So much more fun when there is reactions. ------------------ |
| SmallLady Posts: 414 | posted 10-05-2000 07:55 AM Definitely having friends over It's so much fun to play in a big group of friends. ------------------ Small Lady |
| Dr Yassam Member Posts: 93 | posted 10-05-2000 09:11 AM I agree with Astroboy, it's a tie. Both are great, but in different ways. I don't view one as better than the other. All I care about is having multiplayer fun. |
| moss Member Posts: 109 | posted 10-05-2000 01:05 PM It depends on whether your talking about my friends who bring beer or my friends who drink all of my beer. One advantage to on-line play is that you can pick when you want to play and not just play when you and your friends get together. Also, in NFL2K1 you and your friends can play on-line as a team. |
| VP Member Posts: 265 | posted 10-05-2000 01:09 PM quote: Indeed. But another question that should be is which is more practical. How many times are you and your friends on the same exact schedule. There are several bariers when playing with friends such as location and coinciding free-time. When with online play, you can play a multi-player game whenever you want. |
| Jumpman Senior Member Posts: 625 | posted 10-05-2000 03:24 PM Playing with your friends is the only way to go. Expectially when you have four controllers. |
| PSX Junkie Posts: 1101 | posted 10-05-2000 04:47 PM Nothing beats having your friends over pulling out a few softdrinks and some pop corn and taking them on in your favorite sports games. It's just uncomparible. |
| IcebergSlim Member Posts: 230 | posted 10-05-2000 05:23 PM Online is nowhere near as fun as having ya friends over. Opening a can of whup ass is only fun when the person getting the whup ass is right next to you. Plus they can't just quit when they are losing. Unlike those fags on Sega.net - Is no one able to take a good ass kicking? |
| TheOgodlyThing Junior Member Posts: 30 | posted 10-05-2000 05:35 PM I disagree, with online play you can play agaist over 20 people at the same time, woth friends if your lucky, you may be able to find a game that supports 4 player mode(other than sports games). |
| akramh Senior Member Posts: 506 | posted 10-05-2000 05:46 PM i think it's a draw tooo.... it's cool to have friends and make fun of them looose or loose to them and them making fun of you and getting revenge , but it's very rare to get all toghether specially with everyone so busy with life these days , and work and all that... but with online play , you share a glimise of that expirience , but your playing woth fasless unknown people... |
| Ktulu Senior Member Posts: 512 | posted 10-05-2000 05:50 PM By far, having friends over. It's so much more fun to have them there to actually interract with them as opposed to typing messages. Seeing their reactions, talking smack in realtime (not after the play is over), etc. Much better. The advantage of online play is that you can play multi-player titles at any time. |
| Chrono Posts: 805 | posted 10-05-2000 05:53 PM online games you can play anytime and find someone but you have to deal with stupid people and nasty people. |
| OHMYGOD Member Posts: 152 | posted 10-05-2000 06:03 PM What can I say.I like both. But having friends over is a bit more fun. |
