You need greta sound to create the right atmosphere. It's when developers start focusing on just one or two of those things that the games start lacking. All the eye candy in the world can`t make a bad game great. A story really depends on the type of game. An RPG depends on it, where as a shooter like R-Type Delta, the story takes a back seat. I think another point to consider is control, although this may fall under gameplay. There have been so many games that could have been great but have been ruined by bad control. Staff Only:
