I didn't buy my psx untill FF7 came out. They might be waiting for a special game. Registered: May 2000	posted 06-05-2000 07:44 PM 1st off DVD players in Japan are about 2x's as much as PS2 without the added benefits There are 2 million PS2 units sold in JApan, and if you add up the total sales of Videogames for the PS2 you will probably find that there are 2 games sold for every system. Now I don't know about you but with the Japanese launch games there are only 2 maybe 3 games I would throw $50+ dollars for so software sales in my opinion are right on the money What you have is a console war and zealots looking for anyting to possible make the PS2 look like a bad system. Why buy just a DVD player when you could buy a player that plays games as well? But dont expect that to happen in the US. (I dont know about Europe or Australia) While DVD will be a major selling point most people will buy the PS2 primarily because it plays games because the DVD base here is larger. My wife is not a gamer (yet, I'm workin her) but for her to be able to surf get email in the living room would interest her Also I already have big plans for videophones. Broadband multimedia processor and USB ports I think that possibility is very real. My step-son lives in Buffalo so videophones would be wonderful for us. Download movies on demand will alos be very conveinent for me, as will be the billion and 1 radio station to choose from all hooked up to my system. Some of us look at the set top box as an evil thing I can't wait for it. Staff Only:
