PS2 Mirai Revealed + news bits

Core scored some info and pics on Nichimen Graphics 3D animation package, Mirai.
A bit of their article:

"At the Game Developer Conference last spring, Nichimen Graphics announced plans for their latest 3D animation package dubbed 'Mirai.' Since then, a number of leading software developers including Namco and Square have spoke openly about the package, and it's advanced character modeling capabilities."

"According to SCEI officials, there are currently no plans to allow PS2 preorders due to limited hardware quantities at launch. Retailers estimate that approximately 850,000 PlayStation2 units will be available as of 3/4/00, with the other 150,000 being allocated to Sony's planned online store.

Konami is already working on a handful of PlayStation2 titles including DrumMania, Gradius, and Powerful Professional Baseball 7 amongst others. When asked about the possibility of a Metal Gear sequel on the PlayStation2, company officials stated that they couldn't divulge any information. However, they continued by saying that Konami is preparing a formal announcement for early next year in Japan."
