PS2 import price

NCS revealed what they will charge for a Japanese PS2:
"NCS First Week Pricing: US$780 per unit" !!
They also say:
"Software prices are expected to range within the US$80 mark per title. As such, NCS recommends that customers not purchase the PS2 unit at the launch. Prices are high and discounts of US$200+ are very likely in the coming weeks after the PS2 debut."

Comment: Rezanine: Japanese TVs are NTSC, whereas European TVs are PAL. Since NTSC and PAL are incompatible, the Japanese PS2 won't work on European TVs.

Comment: if your an american importing the console there is one point and that point is .........no point!!!! because the only thing you'll be able to play are the japanese ps2 games them selves. DVD in japan is reigon 2 U.S is region 1. so the only people who might benifit from importing a ps2 are people in europe,the north of africa and south africa ( see region map:http://web.ukonline.co.uk/Members/s.roberts/regions.htm)
take my advice dont get one unless your a hard core gamer that doesent watch DVD's..........you may regret it.
