Comment: Ok I've been playing RR 5 a little more a the shop near my house. It is growing on me, but I'm still not sold on it. Now Drummania seems to be the funnest game of the launch. I don't feel like paying the kind of coin for one game though. Hmmm Tekken Tag and End of Century (square's baseball game) or Drum Mania. I think I'll take Tekken Tag and E of C. As for my SF comments it just looked like it could have been cleaned up a little bit more and the same for RR 5. If you look at the games scheduled for realease later this month those are the launch titles to get.

Comment: Hey Digitalturtle the dreamcast had worse launch titles than playstation2 and SF EX3 is a game that should keep the cartoon style graphics.Soul Calibur had the freedom for Namco to create realistic graphics because its younger than SF.SF EX3 is based on the SF world.And you are the first person i found who seems not to like Ridge Racer V.From the movies i saw indicate dynamic gameplay
and just watching the movies i WANT TO PLAY THE DAMN THING.From other people i found in the internet look happy about RR V.Especially from Gamespot.Tey are also happy about SF EX3

Comment: Ok I live in Japan and let me tell you some facts about scoring. Famitsu scores are not the end all. They are a guidline. Hell any magazine that gave Chocobo racing a 9 is in someones back pocket.I got my PS2 on launch evening and SF Ex 3. It is nice and plays well, but not jaw droping. I pull out my copy of Soul Caliber and compare. Hmmm all in all a better game and LOOKS better too. Played Ridge Racer 5. Looks good but plays like crap. But the controller down after 5 minutes and decide to pass on this one. The launch was successful in terms of hardware but the game selection at launch SUCKED. Period. Drummania is a fun game and the fact that I can hook up my Guitar Freaks controller and have a jam session is a very very cool feature, but $150 (give or take a few dollars for exchange) I'll wait a month untill I see it at the used bookstore. I have already hooked my Dreamcast back up and put in Crazy Taxi for some fun. I am not pro Sega or Sony, just a gamer. Dreamcast is still the funnest system I have owned since my NES or SNES.

Comment: YEAH!Those reviews indicate PS2 success.Why dont you visit gamespot too and see how succesful PS2 will be...I think 1000000 sales are the minimum of PS2s first sales.People are staying outside the stores until PS2 gets released.THEY WANT PLAYSTATION2 SO MUCH THEY ARE EVEN GOING TO STAY OUTSIDE THE STORES AND SPEND THEIR NIGHT THERE.

Comment: I'm kind of surprised Street Fighter Ex 3 did so well. Maybe it's better than it looks?

And those are pretty good for launch titles. Quite a lot better than the Dreamcast did when it came out (There was Sonic Adventure, Godzilla, a weird game I can't seem to remember).

Shenmue also got kind of a dud review as I recall from them.

Comment: You have to remember that these are Japanese reviews were they prefer there RPGs
and strange dance games and so for them to give such high scores to more western styles of games
it shows that they are something special.

A. The dreamcast launch lineup really sucked in japan anyway.
B. DoA2 and DoA3 are coming to the PS2
C. Shenmue ended up getting pretty average scores in the end.
D. What other games did nintendo have at launch that were impressive?

These scores are damn fin for all of the problems they had to go through just to get these things on the shelves in time, and anyway, the Japanese have been lining up in droves to buy the thing, so it already isn't a flop.
Face it, come this Fall, the Dreamcast is going down!

Comment: well since the "person" below me (who has no life) has denial problems with anything concerning PS2 / Sony,makes up anything so "it" can be noticed by anyone. these scores are very good. i mean if every title is way above average that is saying quite a bit!

Comment: that's it....these are scores we have been waiting for...oh my god! look at couple of the launch titles for other systems, particularly super mario for the n64...i believe that got impressive scores...anyways, comparing the graphics of the n64 games to those of the ps2 lineup...i would say these games are inferior, but that is only based on my opinion...and as far as dreamcast titles are concerned...none of the games compare with the likes of DOA2, Shenmue, and Sega Rally GT...can anyone smell a console-launch flop, i sure can.

Comment: Not the best, but still good. You have to realize the first lineup wont be 'knock your socks off good', but it will be very close. I dont even remember the first line up for the dreamcast getting ratings such as these. Really makes you look forward to the future of ps2, doesnt it?
