Comment: Besides, zero is forgetting that there's gonna be a multitap for the PS2, which allows for at most 5 players. That's one more than the Nintendo 64 Dreamcast! Add a second multitap, and it allows for EIGHT players! That's FOUR more than the N64 and Dreamcast! There are also multi-player games that you can play on the original PSX, like Gekido (1-4 players), Rock The Rink (1-8 players), Triple Play 99 (1-8 Players), etc.

Comment: The description about the DVD player problems are spot on correct. It is a seems to be a soft/hard solution for DVD playback. It looks fantastic one minute and spotty the next. And some of the games do look cleaner on the PS2 than on the PS.

I am also impressed by the fact PS1 games play better on PS2.I ve read in the official uk playstation mag and in some other sources that PS1 games should play identically on PS2 with no any better quality.

Comment: Hi Guys, ok I have to tell you a few things: I am in Japan, I got a PS2 on release, when I got home I tired afew different things. When playing PS games, the machines filters all the textures, making them all smooth, making the original PS games look great. In the system menu of PS2, there are options that smooth all the graphics on PS games. PS2 isn't DVD out of the box, you get a utilties DISC with the machine, and you have to download the DVD drivers from the DISC on to the 8 Memory card which supplied with the machine. And when you want to watch a DVD movie, you have to insert the memory card with the DVD drivers. But it looks with the drivers are not good enough yet, or that the drivers are unable to play DVD which are more than 2 years old. I bought Conair, and I found that the picture skips, jumps, and there are sound problem, such as cracking. I think that this problem with be fixed with another driver, but I was very disappointed. But the machine is great, Ridge racer is cool, and street fighter EX3 is very fun to play. Also the PS2 is very hard to get hold of, because it was sold out with the first 20 minutes, and on the box, it prohibiteds the export of the machine, and the 8 Meg memory card. (as of 1999/6/18). So you guys might have a lot of trouble getting hold of them. But as the machine goes, it kicks ass, and the rest of the competitors haven't got a chance.

Comment: I don't hate Nintendo at all, nor do I disapprove of their "kiddie" image (which is just as "kiddie" as Crash Bandicoot and Spyro). Even so, today should be as O/O/OOOO ADM (Anno Domini machina, a.k.a. Year of our lord machine a.k.a. PS2), since yesterday was 12/31/0001 BP2 (Before Playstation 2).

I'm still gonna wait for the American version...maybe I'll get it when it's $199.99, I must have patience, I must have patience, I must have patience...Besides, it won't only be cheaper, but there will be more games as well, not considering the multitude of PSX already on the market...

Comment: Well, this could define what the next five years of video gaming will be. PSX did well in Japan in comparison to N64, and look what won. Now, Dreamcast has not done well in Japan and if PS2 does, history will repeat itself. If PS2 gets it's foot-hold in Japan, USA will follow suit when a plethra of developers jump on for the Japan crowd, and in the end, it's the games that matter.
