Sony's broadband plans confirmed

The lads over at report from the GDC:


Sony Computer Entertainment America's VP of third party relations and R&D finally put the company's cards on the table regarding the online future of PlayStation2 at GDC on Saturday. The ethernet for the machine is to come in at 100Mbs and broadband connections were promised to the user before the end of 2001.

Also, Sony confirmed a "High Capacity" hard drive for the PS2.
