Tekken Tag reviews
Posted by @ 12:13 PM, EDT
Gaming Age put up a review of Namco’s fighter.
Here’s a slice:

Visually, TTT is a real treat. Running in high resolution at a super-slick 60fps, TTT displays precious little of the jag or aliasing problems that has been much publicised of late. Even through a component RGB connection, one has to squint and concentrate quite hard to be seriously bothered, much less even pick up the faults. As far as this reviewer is concerned, it's a non-issue.

They also slapped up a few movies of the game. Go here to check them out.

Gamespot also kicked up a review of TTT, giving it 9.2/10.
Here’s a bit:

Aside from the standard tag-battle arcade mode, there is also a one-on-one game that makes Tekken Tag Tournament more like the previous Tekken games, as well as the standard team battle (though it is now a tag-team battle), time attack, and survival modes.

Tetris is my favorite game ever becauser I am constantly involved. Hours pass in the blink of an eye, I'm sucked into the game. These interactive movies don't do that for me, it's like I'm watching T.V. Any pause in the action for more than a few minutes sucks. It's like *BOOM REALITY CHECK!* It better be something damn interesting going on screen, and frankly none of Square's offerings were, though MGS kicked. Good shooters are some of the best games out, always always always action going on. Gradius series and the recent Radiant Silvergun for example. AHH, getting off track here. Until an "interactive movie" is fully interactive, I am just not that interested. Cutscenes that control my character....no way! I want to be able to decide the outcome. See what I'm getting at?

Exactly. IM is just another type of genra along side RPG's, beat 'em ups, racers, etc etc. But overall, games are going to look more cinamatic as technologey improves.

Chaborf interactive movies will turn out to be a new add with the other genres.I dont think there are going to replace other types of games.Oh and i dont think Square games sucked because of being a bit cinematic.
Ever watched TRANSFORMERS:THE MOVIE?Imagine being inside that movie and live the story and be able to interact with other Autobots as if you are living the movie.

Interactive movies will have more gameplay than you could ever imagine. 'The World Is Not Enough' is a fine example of what is to come. Chadorf, you may not agree with me but It's what most people would actually like to see.

I sure hope that games don't turn into movies! Hell no, Square is already leaning towards cinematic games since the FF3 days and look how they've sucked(uh, no comments, please). MGS too, although the difference is that it had a great story. This is what I'm mostly afraid of: Developers will lose their roots and make "interactive movies" instead of games.

P.S.-Bionic Commando for the GameboyColor kicks ass.

No, what I really think will happen when PS3 comes is the games will look just like movies, and developers will actualy make films using the hardware. Just emagine that.
