Did you import a PS2?
Posted by @ 4:17 PM, EDT
Neo just lost all his saves on his memory card… :/
So if you have had any problem with your memcard, be sure to get a new one, or else you might lose all your saves… (Note, Sony has fixed the memory card problem already, this is just a warning for those who have the early PS2s)
Neo sent me this message:
"All my saves has disappeared from my 8 Meg memory card. All that is shown are blue file boxes, and when I high-light the box the text given reads "Broken Data." This has never happened before...all my saves are destroyed.
Ridge Racer completed, Tekken Completed, Dead or Alive 2 Completed, Fantavison Completed, Kessen over 70 hours, Golf over 20 hours, and driving E-motion, just started to get the GT cars...All gone!"
He took two pics of the error messages:

That is not a PSX2 problem. I had this damn problem with the PSX1 too! And it always happened after a good game of Fifa '99. And yes, I do have Final Fantasy 7 AND 8. And Breath of Fire III.
So all the saves where gone.

UPDATE: I managed to score another copy of TTT and replayed the Unknown FMV. Guess what? No glitch. Which means, that there are bad copies of TTT out there. Beware.

Does anybody know how to format a memory card that is already formatted once before? I cannot believe that Sony forgot to include a format feature. Don't get me wrong, I can delete files but I'd rather format my memory card.

Thank you for answer my question, Philip. My game is Dead or Alive 2 for psx2, but it doesnt goes well.In the psx2 shop of my city they said me that will change my psx2 for another. I think that I know why my DVD player doesnt goes well: I wanted to play with european psx"1" games, putting the cd after the "play station 2" image apears in TV

This is a minor problem, really. Ok, so it's a big problem, and one that the good people at SCEI are working on as we speek. It's no reason not to buy one. I for one am a HUGE Playstation fan and would give an arm and a leg to play on PS2 right this minute!

That sucks. That really really really really really sucks. It sucks. Sucks it does. Well, at least it's not some mega Square RPG where you were at the final boss or something. Damn though, that just sucks!

I got the exact same error message. When I refuse to format the memory card, the blue boxes don't appear though. Luckily, I just got some fresh memory cards. Otherwise, lost RRV, TTT, DOA2, and Fantavision which I completed. Also, Type-S and I.Q. Remix+ datas which I just started playing.
Other glitches that you may be able to verify. I get hiccups during "Unknown" FMV, and during Type-S demo, the text bar on the top of the screen occasionally flickers. Let me know if you have the same problem.

Kaneda, which Dead Or Alive do you mean exactly? Because if it's the first one then it might be one of the PSX games that don't work on PS2.

I have a imported psx2 and the game "DEAD OR ALIVE" doesnt goes well ( sorry for my poor english...Im spanish). But the other games goes well (ridge racer, street fighter, teken...etc). Is this because dead or alive is a DVD? Why? What can I do? thank you very much.
