PS2 reviews
Posted by @ 2:26 PM, EDT
The lads over at Gamespot UK have been busy, today they kicked up 4 review of PS2 games:

Golf Paradise (4/10)
For all the total golf heads, you can spend ages on each shot, changing angles of your feet, fiddling with club selection (the auto caddy seems to do just fine every time though) and altering every aspect of your shot. You can make all the alterations you want, but just hitting the O button on every shot seems to handle everything just fine.

Fantavision (7.8/10)
It does sound simple, but as the game progresses it gets harder and faster, and of course the explosions are bigger, better and more colourful. For the first ten minutes or so it is easy to think that the game is nothing special, but after half an hour Fantavision will have you hooked, and you will be dusting down your little black book so that you can find someone special to play it with.

Dead or Alive 2 (8.9/10)
DOA2 also wins hands down when it comes to the environments you fight in. I can remember when Tekken was being hyped and a lot was made out of the fact that every blade of grass could move individually. If you prefer to have some limited interaction with the levels and even multistage levels, then DOA2 is the place to come.

Kessen (3.4/10)
Even if you stood a hope in hell of understanding the storyline from the huge amounts of CGI sequences, the game itself is about as involving as a Mills & Boon book (pick it up, try a passage, wonder why you're bothering and throw it down quickly). Kessen looks like it could be running on, dare I say it, a normal PlayStation. There's nothing impressive about the look at all.

Sadly I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment

Will you guys be saying the same things a year from now?

It's inevitable games will get better along with the scores reviewers give them. Look at games like Tekken Tag. It's been getting rave reviews everywhere. And then there's GT2000 - I'll be very surprised if this doesn't get a 10/10. The new Metel Gear should make a few mouths drool.
What about Munch's Oddysey, or Wipeout Fusion? All of these titles are shaping to be real qulity products. The PS2 is capable of showing you the best games you'll ever play, and should show them DC fans something to think about.

This site shouldn't give a game a bad rating just because poor Bjorn can't read japanese.
If you gave an english version of Metal Gear Solid to a japanese guy, he would give it a bad rating too.
You should maybe consider hiring someone to translate it for you, or wait for the U.S version to give kessen a bad review!

Grandmaster B some of those with 4/10 or less are great games but got low because they expected more.Kessen for example is a very nice game and when I buy a PS2 this game is in my list.Golf Paradise in the other hand is a golf game and rarely you find a nice golf game.Especially if its too japanese.

Bjorn maybe there are some hackers.Maybe there is someone who wants to revenge you by destroying some nice things about this site or some stupid SEGA fanatics who dont accept the fact their DC is losing.
