PS2 sales exceed 2 million

According to several Japanese sources Sony has now sold more than 2 million PS2s.

| Backwards compatibility is one factor. But I believe it was mulitple factors that made it popular. 1. Sony is allready popular 2. DVD (right on heh) 3. Internet. And maybe it'll become even more popular with the new hard drive announced. And I don't think PSX6 can beat out god. He could just decide to kill off sony then heh (:. Maybe god will allow PSX6 to have complete dominance of hell though lmao | |

| I wonder if PS2 would've been so popular if it wasn't backwards compatable with PS1 games? I think this is one of PS2's greatest strenths, especialy when you think about the suport PS1 has had. Over 70 million of them in fact. | |

| You're right, it's silly. There's no harm in having a bit of fun, is there? What we have now is one mother of a machine, and we'll be seeing a lot more of it over the mext 5, maybe 10 years. It's been said Ps2 will have a life span of at least 10 years, which is probably the time they would need to create PS3. |
