3 million PS2s each

According to MagicBox, Sony will be shipping 6 millions PS2 console to Europe and US (each 3 millions) in this year.

I would tell you if I knew...but the release has been narrowed down to between September 15 -- Novermber 15...officially by Sony. | Thanks for the reply, Majorgamer. Ok, reference, humor and sarcasm. After reading through your previous comment again, it does not convey any of those to the points that you made. Maybe me, could be! I just hate to see people try to derail the DC with little stats and facts about graphics and all this irrelevant stuff when all that matters are the games.....and in my opinion, SEGA is wiping the floor with Sony at this. AT THIS POINT. Plus, of course SEGA has an advantage over the PSX because the DC is more powerful, but even most of the PS2 games that I have seen don't really "blow away" the DC at all like predicted. The Dreamcast and SEGA deserve some credit and a round of applause like said by Sony Hater. They have done a great job so far. With that said, NOW BRING ON THE PS2, Sony! | |

| Loyalist? Your absolutly correct. I am very loyal. And my opinions? Well, concerning the PS2 they have stayed the exact same since the first day I read about it. The water comment. Its called a reference :P The nude scene...man, its called humor. I guess you don't have much, or you would have seen this. And about FFVII? It didn't suck that bad, and you havn't heard of complaints from the new PS2 owners have you? Besides the memory glitches so far that is. And hating the DC because of Sony Hater? That part is called sarcasm. Do I really think Sega people are wierd or stupid? No. Sega is fine. In fact, its damn awesome. I'm just not gonna buy it, because Sony has proven their ability to produce a quality product...i.e PlayStation. I've had my PlayStation for several years now, and gotten more enjoyment out of it then anything else I can think of...that, again, is where that loylisty mentality bullshit is derived :) I just d/l some X-Box movies...they looked sweet. Up until yesterday, (when I got the movies), I was dead set about which system to buy. Now I'm not and I don't like it, but that just shows that I'm not so single minded as you might think. And I admit, now, looking back, that I was harsh about Sony Haters first comment...like I said, I'm fantatical, I can't help it. Mainly his name got me riled up...not what he said. He is very objective and doesn't attack the PS2, so if you read this Sony Hater, my oppologies. And you know what? Phillip made an excellent point. If you like your system, and it makes the games you enjoy, then the more power to you. I think that covers all the bases Chaborf...if not, I'm done defending myself and don't care what people think beyond this statement. From what I interpreted from your #5 comment about why PS2 will blow away Sega and the Dreamcast, it seems that the only things that are relevant to you are better graphics, sales figures and the sort. Yes, we all know how mighty powerful the PS2 is. It can generate H2o that looks drinkable. Whew! WHO CARES? Do you buy consoles to look at rendered water that looks drinkable, or to see a glimpse of a nipple in a fighting game? Jeeez, go rent "Rocco"! The Ps2 sold more in two months than the DC did in a year.....yea, and tons of people bought FFVII before they realized that it sucked. The thing that really gets me is your statement about hating the DC just because of people like Sony Hater. Man, are you really that easily manipulated in real life? Do you hold on to your own opinions or do they change on a day to day basis because of someone else's comment? Sony Hater didn't attack the PS2 in his comment, he gave valid debatable points. | OK Chaborf, I know what it sounds like. And I'm not an asshole. I'm just something that most ppl would call 'Fanatical'. I'm a preacher of the Sony� faith, my brotha! Lol, no, I'm a nice guy, who's just is a little zelus when it comes to the PS2�. And thc? The reason, the ONLY reason Bleem� runs PS� games better is because of the monitor res. I have a 17" all purpose monitor. That means radio, tv, AND computer can all be utilized with this monitor. I've hooked up my PlayStation� to this, and I haven't unhooked it since. Because of the resolution, and nothing else. Your Voodoo� witch doctor crap doesn't help the Playstation�, because mine runs fine on its own. And I plan on hooking up my PlayStation2� to this monitor when I get it. And your gigahertz chip? Unless your extremely rich or your daddies very influential, I doubt you have one yet, because they havn't released them to the public yet, only a select few for a sort of beta testing smarty. So don't go running your mouth off about stuff you know nothing about, it only makes you look silly :P. I've said my two cents. | |

We can all laugh in his lying face when the PS2 (which I'm pretty sure he knows very little about, or is one of those poor die-hard Sega loyalists) hits the U.S. shelves and blows sega (notice its lower caps for lower quality...I mean come on, chu chu rocket? Go play a real on-line game.) out of the water. And it will. Lets see...it can generate water that looks drinkable at 60 fps...and you say the graphics don't compare? LOOK AT THE DOA2 WOMEN!!! Put that on the DC and watch them wither :P And not to mention the fact that they censored the nude scene in DOA2 for the DC and not that PS2 :). I don't hate the DC...wait, I take that back. I do. Because it breds the chemicaly imbalanced people like you (Sony Hater) and in the end it hurts us all. Oh and might I point out that DC sold 2 million units in about...a year? Where as PS2 sold that many in two months...if your not as stupid as you sound, you can put 2 and 2 together Sherlock. | I've played the PS2 at a mom and pop video game store and I wasn't impressed at all. So I think the DC deserves a round of applause, because it's competing with technology that's suppose to be pretty much 50% - 100% better. Realistically PS2's graphics should look like N64's to PSX's (atleast). But they aren't and a lot of 2nd gen titles for DC are projected to blow away any of PS2's upcoming games. Even with online gaming DC will only be able to hold its own for maybe 1 - 2 years after the PS2s release in US. By that time Dolphine and X-BOX will be out and DC will be running with 3+ year old hardware and most likely still holding its own (probably not #1 though). It won't even be close to the power of the newer next-gen systems, but I think it will hold its own and I think that's pretty impressive. It's like when a little guy beats up on a big guy. | |
