Summoner interview

Combat World posted an interview with Volition, talking about their PS2/PC RPG, Summoner.
Here’s a slice:

14. Who is the lead character? and some background? (how many characters to choose from?)

As I said before, Joseph is the main character. When he was a child a party of raiders attacked his village. To protect himself and his village he tried to summon a monster to attack the raiders. Unfortunately, he ended up summoning a demon, which massacred the raiders and his whole village. After that he vowed never to use his summoning ability again. In addition to Joseph there are 3 other characters that he encounters who join him. Flece, a thief who thinks only of money, Jekhar, a warrior who hails from the village that Joseph destroyed and has vowed to kill him, and Rosalind, a spell-casting monk-in-training, who is jealous of Joseph's summoning ability.
