With Gungriffon Blaze, GameArts brings another fairly solid title into the recently glutted mech-shooter market. While the game looks almost sim-like at first glance, the frenetic, distinctly action-driven missions reveal a pure shooter lurking just beneath the surface. Nicely modeled mechs, good control, eye-popping particle effects and the chance to run wild on a lot of breakable stuff with a 30-meter tall, hulking killing machine, are sure to delight fans of the original Gungriffon and mass-destruction enthusiasts in general. Some serious questions remain about this game’s shelf life though.
