Konami interview
C&VG spoke to Mr Atsushi Horigami, KCEJ East’s Manager of Product Design.
Here’s a bit:

CVG: What’s the concept behind 7 Blades?

Horigami-san: The name of the game comes from one of the two main characters of the game – the guy basically has seven swords, seven blades. You start out with a few of them, then you gain others throughout the game. There’s also a girl who carries guns. You can pick on one of these characters to play the game. There is one main story, and this story intertwines. Thing is, when you start out playing with one of the characters – let’s say you start out playing with the guy – you never use the girl in the middle of the game. But when you play as the guy there will be scenes where you will meet the girl. And when you play as the girl you will meet the guy – kind of Resident Evil-esque except that you don’t switch characters midway through the game as you do in Resident Evil.

Let’s say you’re playing as the guy, and you suddenly have a dead enemy falling from the sky, you have no idea what went wrong – and you’re not going to find out by just keep on playing with the guy. When you play as the girl, you know because you will be shooting one of the enemies in the sky who will then fall in front of the guy. So when you’re playing as the girl you will say ‘oh this is what happened before while I was playing as the guy – so this is what happened!’

The story takes place in 18th Century Japan, in a district called Dejima. This is the place where a mysterious religious group is located, from where they hope to take over all of Japan. These are the bad guys basically. The guy and the girl are fighting against this religious group.

I have a question for the moderators: why aren't you all accepting new membership registrations for the forum. Are you so inexperienced with moderating that you are unable to permit newcomers from taking part in discussions, or are you afraid of having everyone's point of view concerning the ps2 being displayed here, seeing as how biased this site is. You make dailyradar look good.

and those getaway pics are looking worse and worse. I had no idea the anti-asliasing problem was that severe. I better get a dreamcast and/or gamecube and/or xbox.

Bloody hell, those Dropship screens are looking incredible. That game just gets better and better - things are really looking up for the PS2, I'm definitely going to preorder one now.
